Client website: Saffrons

The challenge

Saffrons is a halal Indian restaurant and caterer in Singapore. Its busiest season is Ramadan. The rest of the year, people looking for halal food, catering or a wedding menu search for the occasion or the place, not for a restaurant's name.

What we did

We write the blog as a halal food publisher: guides to halal food by area, catering for weddings and family celebrations, and halal certification. Halal facts come from MUIS and other official pages only. Each guide points to a WhatsApp enquiry. Our work is the articles; we do not change Saffrons' pages or menu.

The result

Between Feb–Mar and Sep–Oct 2026 the MUIS-certified restaurant guide went from 0 to 89 clicks a month and the best-briyani guide from 17 to 59. Saffrons sits at position 5.8 for 'halal omakase singapore'. Still open: total clicks (2,119 in Sep–Oct) are far below the Ramadan month (13,980), most of which came from Ramadan-only pages. The fair test is Ramadan 2027 against Ramadan 2026.

What we built and wrote

  • The blog: Halal food guides by area, wedding and family catering, and halal certification. We write the articles only; Saffrons' own pages stay as the client made them.

What went wrong, and why

'wedding menu packages' was first on Google in our September update and is now around position 10. We have not yet found the cause, so we are not guessing one here.

The honest part

Our first tracked month (19 Feb – 18 Mar 2026) was Ramadan, Saffrons' catering peak: 13,980 clicks. Sep–Oct shows 2,119 (Aug–Sep showed 2,401). Most of the Ramadan figure came from Ramadan-only pages: the Ramadan bazaar guide alone had 4,046 clicks then and none now. That is the season, not the site. 'wedding menu packages', #1 in our September update, is now around position 10. The fair comparison is Ramadan 2027 against Ramadan 2026 — we will publish it then.
