The challenge

Renovation Contractor Singapore is an HDB-registered contractor for BTO, resale and condo renovations. People planning a renovation search for the rules and dates first: when work may start, how noise is controlled, when their BTO is ready. A contractor's own pages rarely answer those questions, so the searcher lands somewhere else.

What we did

We run the blog as an HDB renovation news site: rules, BTO dates and common problems, each explained in plain words and linked to the HDB or government page it comes from. In early September 2026 we found up to ten of our own pages competing for the same searches and re-titled them. The same month we set the enquiry tracker to record the page a visitor first landed on.

The result

On 19 October 2026 the site held 250 keywords in Google's top 3, up from 192 on 4 September. New guides keep finding readers: the HDB renovation noise rules guide went from 0 to 254 clicks a month. Still open: total organic clicks (3,002 in 28 days) are well below the 4,765 of February–March 2026, and the +4% since the re-titling is not yet a recovery.

What we built and wrote

  • The website: A Shopify site for a licensed renovation contractor, built so its HDB registration and packages are clear before anyone calls.
  • The blog: HDB renovation news: rules, BTO dates and common problems, each linked to the HDB or government page it comes from.

What went wrong, and why

We published many BTO pages that went after the same searches, so up to ten of our own pages competed with each other and Google showed none of them well. We think this is the main reason clicks fell after February 2026. The BTO completion-date tracker alone fell from 566 to 55 clicks. We re-titled the overlapping pages in September; so far that has brought +4%, not a recovery.

Measured change, before and after

Measured 22 Oct 2026: 19 Feb 2026 – 18 Mar 2026 compared with 22 Sep 2026 – 19 Oct 2026.

  • 250 keywords in Google top 3 (19 Oct 2026; 192 on 4 Sep, same count)
  • 2,896 → 3,002 organic clicks, 28 days to 4 Sep vs 28 days to 19 Oct 2026
  • #2–3 'what time can renovation start in singapore', 'tengah bto 2027', 'hdb square feet'

New guides keep finding readers: HDB renovation noise rules (0 to 254 clicks/28d), Bayshore BTO 2026 (0 to 70), HDB BTO application status (0 to 69). 250 keywords sit in Google's top 3, up from 192 on 4 Sep.

Pages that moved (clicks per 28 days)

The honest part

Total organic clicks are still well below February 2026: 4,765 to 3,002 in a 28-day window. Up to ten of our own pages were competing for the same search. In early September 2026 we re-titled the overlapping pages; clicks since moved from 2,896 to 3,002 (+4%). That is not a recovery yet. Older BTO pages lost most: the completion-date tracker fell from 566 to 55 clicks. No enquiry count this time: since September the tracker also records clicks to outside links, and we are separating those from real enquiries before we publish a number.
