The challenge

Livin Malaysia is a guide site for people moving to Malaysia to work or live. Most of its articles had not been touched since they were first published: old years in the titles, and links inside the text that went nowhere.

What we did

We fixed what was there before adding anything: every title and search description, every broken link inside the articles, and links between related guides so no page stood alone. The work paused from 14 August to 2 September 2026.

The result

Organic clicks went from 114 in August to 203 in October 2026 (28-day windows), and the average Google position from about 44 to about 24. Still open: the numbers are small, and search impressions fell over the same months, so the site is seen for fewer searches but chosen more often.

What we built and wrote

  • The article clean-up: We brought all 64 articles up to date: titles, search descriptions and dates. In July 2026 we fixed 280 links inside the articles that led to pages that did not exist, and gave pages with no links in or out a related-reading section.

What went wrong, and why

We reported the title refresh as finished on 24 June 2026. It was not: a check on 1 July found 19 articles our batch had skipped. In August we found a second gap: we had fixed the visible titles, but most articles also had a separate search title that Google shows, and 50 of 64 were too long. Both are fixed. Since then we count every article again before we call a job done.
