25 of 36 Tour Price Searches Name a Destination
Contents9
Ask a Singapore travel agency owner what their customers search and most will say "travel agency Singapore". On 24 October 2026 we pulled 87 real Google Autocomplete predictions across three seeds to see what people actually type. They do not type that.
Of 36 Singapore predictions for "tour package price", 25 named a specific destination. Ten of them had the identical shape: place + "tour package singapore price". Harbin. Xinjiang. Zhangjiajie. Tasmania. Sabah. Egypt. Finland. The buyer has already chosen where they are going. They are pricing it.
Google says that "autocomplete predictions reflect real searches that have been done on Google", while warning that it "doesn't simply display the most common queries on a given topic". So these are real phrasings, not a volume ranking. We publish counts and shapes here, never volume.
What we typed, and what came back
Three seeds through our keyword tool on the Singapore market, 24 October 2026:
| Seed | Singapore predictions kept | Dropped as another market's |
|---|---|---|
| travel agency singapore | 41 | 7 |
| tour package price | 36 | 11 |
| travel agency refund | 10 | 0 |
The dropped rows are worth a sentence. For "tour package price", 11 of 47 candidates were about India, Sri Lanka or Dubai departures and would never be yours. For "travel agency singapore", 7 were about travelling to Singapore, phrased by people outside the market. Working out which half of a keyword list is actually yours is a job in itself, which is why we wrote a three-step check for it.
The shape that repeated ten times
Ten of the 36 price predictions followed one template: a destination, then "tour package singapore price". Another 15 named a destination in some other arrangement. Two named Singapore itself as the destination, which is inbound demand, not yours unless you sell it.
So 27 of 36 price-intent predictions named a place. Nine did not, and those nine were broad things like "tour packages price list", "which tour package is best" and "what is tour package".
Read that as a page specification rather than a keyword list. A buyer typing "sabah tour package singapore price" is not shopping for an agency. They are shopping for one trip, at one price, leaving from here. The page that wins is a page about Sabah with a fare on it. A homepage that lists continents is not that page, and we found plenty of those: in our audit of 13 Singapore travel agency websites the same morning, four of the eight readable sites listed fewer than 20 pages in total.
Eleven of 41 were checking a reputation
Now the other seed. We sorted all 41 "travel agency singapore" predictions into one group each:
| What the searcher wants | Predictions |
|---|---|
| Reviews or reputation | 7 |
| A specific named agency | 4 |
| Best, top, biggest, cheapest | 8 |
| The service, plainly | 6 |
| Price or rates | 5 |
| Visa help | 3 |
| Near me, or a named area | 3 |
| A job at an agency | 2 |
| One destination | 1 |
| A contact number | 1 |
| A list of licensed agents | 1 |
Eleven of 41 were reputation checks: seven wanting reviews, including one adding Reddit and one asking for bad reviews, and four typing a specific agency's name alongside the word review or reviews.
That is a quarter of the demand on this seed, and almost none of it can be answered on your own website. You cannot publish your own reviews and expect them to settle the question. What you can do is make sure the pages that do answer it are accurate: your Google Business Profile, the best-of listicles that hold most of these search slots, and any directory entry describing you. Our local SEO guide covers the profile side.
Eight more wanted a shortlist: best, top, biggest, cheapest. Those searches are almost entirely held by listicles rather than by agencies, which raises a separate question about whether to pay for a slot on one. We put numbers on that in Best-of Lists Hold 28 of 60 Slots.
Only five of 41 asked what it costs
On the agency seed, just 5 of 41 predictions were about price: "travel agent rates singapore", "how much is a travel agent cost", "how much does a travel agent cost", "which travel agency is the cheapest" and "travel agency singapore tour packages price".
Hold that against the other seed, where price was the seed word and 25 of 36 answers named a destination. The pattern is consistent and it is useful: price is not a question people ask about agencies. It is a question they ask about trips.
Two of those five phrasings, "how much is a travel agent cost" and "how much does a travel agent cost", are asking something different again: what the agent's own fee is, separate from the trip. If you charge a service or amendment fee, that is a page nobody in this sample's results had written.
Three predictions asked about visa help and one asked for a list of licensed agents. STB states that under the Travel Agents Act 1975, local companies or persons in the business of making travel arrangements or conducting tours need a Travel Agent Licence. If you hold one, the person typing "singapore travel agents list" is trying to check exactly that, and your licence number belongs somewhere findable.
What buyers type when it has gone wrong
The third seed, "travel agency refund", returned 10 predictions and not one of them was dropped as belonging to another market. All ten were some version of the same bad afternoon: not refunding money, cancellation refund policy, refund policy, refund form, return policy, reimbursement, refusing to refund, refund scam.
Only three of those ten had enough trend history for the tool to scale them at all. The rest came back as real predictions with unknown demand, which is itself a signal: these are phrasings people reach for in a small number of genuinely bad situations.
Here is the uncomfortable use for it. Those searches run whether or not you have published anything, and the pages that answer them today are forums and news stories about other agencies. An agency with a clearly written cancellation and refund page, in plain words, with the deadlines and the amounts, owns a question its competitors have left to strangers. It also, in our view, closes fewer sales in the short run, because some people read the terms and walk away. That is the trade, and you should make it knowingly.
What we would do with this, in order
- List the destinations you actually sell and count them. Then count the pages on your site named after a destination. If the second number is much smaller than the first, that gap is your content plan, and it is not a blog.
- Put a from-price and a departure month on each one. The price word is in the search. Hiding it behind a form sends the buyer back to Google, which we have argued with our own numbers.
- Fix what other people publish about you before writing more about yourself. Eleven of 41 searches on the agency seed were reputation checks that your own pages cannot answer.
- Write the refund and cancellation page. Ten of ten predictions on that seed were problems. It is the cheapest trust page you will ever publish.
- Skip "best travel agency singapore". Eight predictions want a shortlist and listicles hold those slots. Competing for them with your own page is a long, expensive fight you probably lose.
What these numbers are not
- Not volume. We publish counts of predictions and how they group. Autocomplete is not a search volume ranking, and Google says so itself.
- Not Google's results page. This measures what Google suggests as you type, not what ranks.
- One morning, three seeds. 87 predictions on 24 October 2026. A different seed set gives a different list, as would a different day.
- Grouping is a judgement. We put each prediction in exactly one group. Someone else might read "which travel agency is the cheapest" as a shortlist search rather than a price search; we called it price.
- Trend coverage is thin. Across the three seeds, only 12 of the 87 predictions had enough history for the tool to scale against trend data. The rest are real phrasings with unknown demand, and we have written about how to tell a real trend from a dead end.
Want this run on your own destinations?
Send us the three destinations you make the most money on. We will pull the Singapore predictions for each, group them the way we grouped these, and tell you which ones already have a page on your site and which do not. It starts as a free visibility check through our contact page.
If you want the pages written and published too, our SEO, AEO and GEO programme is S$750/month with 20 articles a month. And if the honest answer is that the online travel agents already own every destination search you care about, we will say so.

FAQ
What do Singapore customers search before booking a tour?
Mostly a destination and a price together. Of 36 Singapore predictions for "tour package price" on 24 October 2026, 25 named a specific destination and 10 took the exact form "place tour package singapore price". The agency's name comes later, if at all.
Is "travel agency singapore" worth targeting?
Only partly. Of its 41 predictions, 11 were reputation checks and 8 wanted a best-of shortlist, and both groups are mostly answered by listicles and review sites rather than by agencies. Six were plain service searches. The destination-plus-price searches are the ones your own pages can win.
Should a travel agency publish a refund policy page?
In our view yes. All 10 predictions on the "travel agency refund" seed were about something going wrong, and today those questions are answered by forums and news stories about other companies. A plain page with deadlines and amounts wins trust, at the cost of losing a few buyers who read it.
Why not publish search volume numbers?
Because the volume figures available to us are estimated from our own clients' Search Console impressions, which is their data, not ours to publish. Counts of real autocomplete predictions and how they group are ours to publish, and for planning pages they are the more useful half anyway.
Can I cite these figures?
Yes. Please cite "SingRank, Singapore travel search demand, 24 October 2026" with a link to this page. Quote each number with its base, such as 25 of 36 predictions, and carry the note that autocomplete is not a volume measure.
